Pharmacy Fellowship Program overview
The PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy Fellowship Program offers a unique and distinctive opportunity to interface with patients, prescribers, health plans, and pharmaceutical manufacturers to effectively optimize patient outcomes. Completion of this program will result in a highly knowledgeable pharmacist competent in both clinical and business aspects of rare pharmacy management.
Each year, PANTHERx Fellows work in the areas of Business & Pharmacy Operations, Quality Improvement & Clinical Education, Pharmacy Analytics & Reporting, Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, and Managed Markets.
Fellowship Goals
- Perform focused, evidence-based comprehensive disease and medication therapy management services for people living with rare conditions
- Interact with prescribers, patients, and pharmaceutical partners to optimize the unique and complex care of rare patients
- Analyze, develop, and implement quality improvement initiatives, including pharmacovigilance, to further enhance medication safety
- Participate in development and analyses of clinical initiatives to enhance patient therapeutic outcomes
- Develop skills required for medication pipeline analyses, management, and market forecasting
- Understand specialty medication supply chain, inventory management, and the impact on pharmacy operations
- Participate in quarterly business reviews and interact with industry partners
- Gain an understanding of accreditation and regulatory standards, compliance, reporting, and auditing
- Develop clinical resources to support professional development of internal colleagues
- Provide clinical and drug information support to prescribers and patients
- Coordinate and complete a focused research project and submit for poster/presentation
Program Details
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education required
- Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania
- Fellow receives competitive stipend, comprehensive medical plan, and paid time off
- Travel expenses for a national meeting, professional membership, and required travel
Application Process
- Selected applicants will be asked to complete an on-site interview and a 30-minute presentation on a rare pharmacy topic of their choosing. Program Dates: July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027
